World Red Cross Red Crescent Day is recognized every May 8th, honoring the lives and work of the amazing volunteers that make the global Red Cross Movement possible. Here in the United States, this humanitarian work includes delivering life-saving blood, ensuring the public are prepared for disaster, and reconnecting families separated internationally by conflict, crises and migration. Globally, Red Cross Red Crescent volunteers are responding to the needs of Syrians caught in the midst of conflict, providing food and shelter for refugees in Greece, and responding to medical emergencies in Mexico.
